Mario was one of less than a handful of video games that I actually played when I was a kid.

  1. Super Mario 3: Mario Forever’s earliest version was released in late 2008.

Official ones would include Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario Galaxy.   3. Although the original Super Mario Bros. game was the work of Nintendo and the franchise remains strong in their hands, Mario Forever is an independently-made fan game brought to you by Softendo Download Games.
  4. The game is ranked as the #1 platformer on CNET.
  5. Over 200 million units of games in the Mario series have been sold worldwide, making it by far the most successful video game franchise ever
  6. Mario Forever is currently only playable on Windows systems
