Samsung Galaxy S3 could launch in wrong country

Samsung could launch its next flagship device the Galaxy S3 at a media event in France on 22 March.

The French location is certainly a step away from the norm for Samsung who traditionally holds its big mobile annoucments in New York.

With this in mind the touted event may have nothing to do with the Galaxy S3, which is expected to run Ice Cream Sandwich, pack a beefed up processor and boast a HD Super AMOLED Plus screen.

We hope the speculation is correct and the Galaxy S3 will be launched in March, but there is a good chance the event could turn out to be a damp squib.

Google has obviously underestimated the demand for the 16GB version of its 7-inch tablet Nexus, so much so that its sale of the Play Store is currently suspended in the U.S. and the UK. The Nexus 8 GB, which is only available via the Google Store Play, on the other hand is always available. According to reports the Guardian, the Mountain View giant thought that the demand for this model at $ 199 would be stronger and that users would offset the weakness of internal storage building on its online services. Asus, the manufacturer of the Nexus, have already increased its production capacity, but the supply could take several weeks to arrive.

But just a day afterwards, the trade in shared music and films 'had not decreased much', says the analyst - it had just shifted to new services, and to new computer servers in Europe, rather than America.
